In spite of tweet, lawyer says Trump not under investigation

Donald Trump surprised many of his Twitter followers last Friday when the president came out and admitted that he's under a federal investigation in the fallout of Russian meddling in the presidential election and whether Trump's campaign played a role in it. He states as evidence the fact that Trump has never been notified of an official investigation into him or the 2016 election and comments made my Comey himself in which he stated clearly that Trump was in no way under investigation.

Meanwhile, Sekulow is on television again on Monday morning, and someone doesn't want you to miss it. This weekend, it produced some of the more excruciating news coverage in recent memory as one of his lawyers, Jay Sekulow, was tendentiously grilled on the question of whether the president has conceded that he is under investigation.

Sekulow downplayed Trump's tweets, saying the president is simply responding to what he sees in the media in a way that can reach millions of his supporters. "As I said, I think it will be good for the president, good for the country to have a full and credible investigation so no one can ever say you didn't look at this or you didn't look at that", Rubio continued. Kushner is now represented by Jamie Gorelick, who is a partner at the firm WilmerHale.

Carson's stance on the issue: giving Mueller "a chance", indicates a surprising break from the position being held by Trump and his administration.

"Here's what you're trying to do, Chris", Sekulow said.

"We've received no notice of investigation".

Himes says the notion the investigation has been going on too long "is just crazy" and "we're talking about the very core of our democracy here".

On June 14, the Washington Post reported that Mueller had expanded his investigation to determine if Trump had attempted to obstruct justice, and was interviewing senior intelligence officials - Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats, Head of National Security Agency Mike Rogers, and Rogers' former deputy Richard Ledgett - as part of that probe.

A full-scale investigation has not yet been launched, although preliminary work is clearly being done, according to sources familiar with the process. Abbe D. Lowell, a prominent trial attorney who represented Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff in a 2005 corruption scandal and is now representing NJ Sen. Kushner has denied any improper contacts with Russian Federation. Gorelick urged Kushner to consider choosing someone else to represent him at first, The Times reported.

"The president is not and has not been under investigation for obstruction". However, Trump in an interview with NBC News' Lester Holt said he chose to fire Comey before reading Rosenstein's memo.

To the contrary: Thanks to The Washington Post, we now know that collusion is only one of three subject areas that the FBI investigation, now led by special counsel Robert Mueller, is exploring.

"You say he can't be under investigation because I haven't been told, and that's a specious premise - you know there's no duty to tell you whether he's under investigation", Cuomo shot back.
