Michael Douglas Accuser Speaks Out: 'He Thought He Could Humiliate Me'

She alleges she endured "sexual harassment by Douglas that included near-constant profane and sexually charged dialogue, demeaning comments about her appearance, graphic discussions regarding his mistresses and more".

She said that Douglas "thought he was the king of the world and that he could humiliate me without any repercussions".

Braudy, who was hired by Douglas' production company in the late 1980s, claims she was subjected to frequent harassment by the actor when she worked with him. Braudy then recounted an incident that allegedly took place at a work meeting in Douglas' apartment back in 1989.

The writer, who has been published in The New York Times, Newsweek and The Atlantic, said on "Today" that she told friends at the time about what happened but was urged not to speak publicly about the incident out of fear of retribution. Outside of the paper trail, Braudy said she told several acquaintances about the incident who were willing to go on record to bolster her story, but she was too intimidated at the time to follow through on any formal action against her employer. "People were frightened for me", she told NBC. "I'm bewildered why, after 32 years, this is coming out, now".

Douglas preemptively denied the allegations in a Deadline article on January 9.

Braudy's account of her time working with Douglas was framed in a column by the Hollywood Reporter's editorial director Matthew Belloni.

Braudy told The Hollywood Reporter she was not surprised by the way Douglas had issued his denial. In his defense, Douglas claims that if he did say inappropriate things, they were never directed at her.

AN ex-employee of Michael Douglas yesterday claimed the actor performed a sex act in front of her.

Cruise boat shuttle catches fire, 50 rescued from Gulf of Mexico waters
A fire engulfed a boat off the Florida coast near New Port Richey, causing 50 people aboard to jump into the Gulf of Mexico. He says the shuttle boat was close to shore when it had engine problems and the crew made a decision to turn back.

"I'd never heard there was a phenomenon called sexual harassment and didn't know the term until the Anita Hill hearings in 1991".

Braudy said she left the apartment immediately. "They're scared and very uncomfortable". "I'm hurt, really hurt and offended and I wonder if people realise when you do something like this, it hurts a lot more than just one person". Michael ran barefoot after me to the elevator, zipping his fly and buckling his belt, saying "Hey, thank you, you're good".

His wife, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, stood by Douglas, telling People in a separate interview that "it's very clear the way he stands" while simultaneously heralding the #MeToo movement.

This individual is an industry veteran, a senior executive, published novelist and an established member of the women's movement-someone with a strong voice now and when she worked at my company more than three decades ago.

Douglas admitted to using "colorful language", in front of Braudy, but said, "none of it was directed at her". "You helped me, thank you, thank you".

Douglas denied the allegation through his lawyer claiming that he felt his accuser was "holding onto a grudge" because of her unsuccessful career.

"I believe this is part of the problem, as is his pretext of victimization", Braudy explained.
