Russian Delegation to Follow Up on PM Netanyahu's Meeting With Putin

Netanyahu said that Iran was trying "to turn Lebanon into one big missile site, a site for manufacturing precision missiles against the State of Israel".

This is the seventh meeting between the two leaders since Russian forces have engaged in an air campaign against Syria terrorists, under the request of Damascus.

Elkin also told Ynet that the conversation focused on Iran's efforts to establish a military foothold in Syria, and their attempts to establish missile factories in Lebanon.

Israel's chief military spokesman, Brig. Gen. Ronen Manelis posted a rare op-ed on Sunday in several Arabic-language websites, warning Lebanon of Iran's entrenchment.

Speaking during his weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem, Netanyahu said he intends to discuss with the Russian leader "the various developments in the region".

The visit will shortly follow a meeting between Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on Thursday.

Haaretz reported that Netanyahu and Putin were expected to discuss Israel's opposition to any arrangement that would let Iranian forces remain on Syria's territory once the war is over, as well as the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.

Federal Bureau of Investigation deputy director quits
The White House was not involved in McCabe's decision, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters Monday afternoon. Wray threatened to resign if McCabe was sacked , prompting Sessions to back off, Axios and The Washington Post reported.

"Through the actions and inaction of the Lebanese authorities, Lebanon is turning into one big missile factory while much of the global community looks the other way", Manelis wrote in the op-ed. The exhibit tells the story of Alexander Pechersky, a Red Army officer who led a successful breakout from the camp.

At the start of their meeting, Netanyahu expressed his appreciation to Putin for holding the meeting at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center.

"There needs to be a long-term and fair solution that fulfills the interests of both sides, and complies with previous stances of the global community", Putin told reporters in December. Here, the Israeli prime minister presented Putin with information on Iran's activities that could directly endanger the Jewish state.

Netanyahu said the "main lesson of the rise of the Nazis and, afterward, their defeat, is that one needs to take a strong and timely stand against murderous ideologies". "That is our mission also today - that is what I want to talk to you about: our joint efforts to advance security and stability in our regions, and of course on the mutual cooperation between us, between Russian Federation and Israel".

"I very much appreciate this invitation and your personal attendance in this place on this day, that reflects our common struggle against the greatest evil that humanity has known", Netanyahu said.

Putin gave Netanyahu as a gift a letter the German industrialist Oskar Schindler, who save some 1,200 Jews during the Holocaust, sent to his wife.
