Rain Moves Out Sunday, But More Is Coming For The Week Ahead

TODAY: Showers likely with a chance of thunder later in the day. Due to the timing of the front I think its likely much of extreme south and southeast Alabama will experience highs in the mid to upper 70s. The main threat with this system will be strong winds and heavy rain, but a spin up tornado or two can not be ruled out. This means isolated showers and a non-severe thunderstorm could be possible. Expect a high of 56 and a low of 40. A Flood Watch is still in effect until early Sunday morning.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Katie Walls said Atlanta set a record high of 79 degrees Saturday, breaking the record of 78 degrees set previous year.

A cold front will push through the Miami Valley early Sunday morning. With saturated ground and gusts winds possible, we could run into the issue of downed trees. Damaging winds will be the main threat along with heavy downpours that could cause areas of flooding. Clouds will begin to decrease through the day Sunday with a high in the mid to upper 50s.
