Ledecka gets second Olympic gold, this time in snowboarding

Ester Ledecka from the Czech Republic has become the first woman to win gold medals in different sports at the same Olympics, in the ongoing PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

After riding the high of an unexpected win in super-G, Ledecka went into parallel giant slalom finals with a qualification time of 43.42 seconds, fast enough to beat almost a quarter of the men's field on the same course.

BONGPYEONG, South Korea — Dont ask Ester Ledecka if she is the best athlete at the Olympics.

"Today I proved it is possible", she said, "and I'm very happy that I have my team around me, which were very professional and supportive today, and all these years they're with me, so I'm very grateful for them".

It was to do it her way — to compete in multiple sports, to win multiple golds — and the more she heard people say she couldnt do it, the worse a listener she became.

Ledecka who started her quest for gold, racing from 26th place in the super-G, stunned the crowd crowd to win by 0.01 seconds. Even her snowboard coach, Justin Reiter, the former United States snowboarder, doubted as recently as last fall that Ledecka could perform at a high level in both. "She never wants to race the girls, and all the guys are like, 'Ester, I don't know if I can do this, '" Trapp said with a laugh. "It was so nice", an ecstatic Ledecka said after claiming gold at the podium, via the official website of the 2018 Winter Olympics. When it was pointed out to the Czech that she was the only one at the Games who had won gold medals in two different sports, she casually shrugged her shoulders and simply said: "Whatever".

Paul Pogba's Agent Accused Of "Meddling" With United's Team Selection
The last time the two teams met, Chelsea had take a 1-0 victory with Alvaro Morata scoring from a header. Defender Gabriel Mercado added that they would be working on ways to break down De Gea at Old Trafford.

But she confessed it had not been easy to deal with the pressure of having so many great expectations on her shoulders.

Not Ledecka. She trains in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, with former US Olympic snowboarder Justin Reiter. "We're trying to take her away from training, and from the slopes, some days". "That I could just hop from sport to sport".

"When she comes back from snowboarding she always goes too round and when she comes back from skiing she always goes too straight so it's always back and forth with the line".

"Today was a big day for snowboard Ester!". When she looked up at the scoreboard and saw the time, she froze. Ledecka is the defending parallel giant slalom world champion, and is ranked number one in the world in the discipline.

"It is great honour to be the first Korean medallist in snowboarding", Lee said.

But Niskanen attacked early - less than 20km into the race - and held off the competition to win by 18.7sec from Russians Alexander Bolshunov and Andrey Larkov. Winning two golds is one thing, but winning a gold medal on someone else's gear?
