Former Trump Aide Now Says He'll Probably Cooperate With Investigators

Nunberg made the shocking comments during a lengthy interview with CNN's Gloria Borger. The friends said they feared that he was "drinking again", and on the verge of a personal meltdown. "I think he may have done something during the election". Nunberg asked MSNBC's Katy Tur.

At one point, CNN's Burnett remarked to him, "I have smelled alcohol on your breath".

The two-page subpoena also demanded Nunberg produce records of his communications with Trump and nine current and former Trump associates.

He concludes with an attack on Sarah Huckabee Sanders: "She's awful".

And it came hours after he told the Washington Post he wouldn't comply with a grand jury subpoena from special counsel Robert Mueller. "I'll be more than happy to deal with her face to face".

Mueller is probing whether Trump's campaign aided Russian interference in the election.

"They know something on him", Nunberg said. "I could be wrong, by the way".

Last year, Mr Mueller's office won a court order forcing a lawyer for former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort to testify before the grand jury after she claimed attorney-client privilege.

"Screw that", he told her.

"I'm not going to cooperate with Mueller".

"No, besides my meds", Nunberg said.

National Basketball Association world reacts to Kobe Bryant's Academy Award
Last night the Oscars had quite a few surprises, and one of them came from National Basketball Association champion Kobe Bryant . Dear Basketball showcases top moments from the Los Angeles Lakers star's storied career, animated in hand-drawn images.

"No, I didn't know anything about the meeting", Trump said.

"No I'm not protecting him, but he didn't do anything", Nunberg said.

Over the weekend witnesses have been issued with a subpoena demanding they turn over all documents related to United States President Donald Trump and his advisors.

Nunberg instead said he believed investigators are trying to get him to implicate controversial Trump ally Roger Stone.

"I have not had a drink", Nunberg insisted. He said no but elaborated that he had taken his medication, antidepressants, earlier that day.

Nunberg said he plans to comply with all aspects of the subpoena, including the federal grand jury testimony he has been called to deliver on Friday.

"We were a joke", he said.

He was particularly incensed at being asked to surrender communications between himself and Roger Stone, who he called his "mentor". "I'm not going to do it".

He also bashed the White House press secretary Sarah Huckabbe Sanders who undermined his role in Trump's campaign, claiming he lacked knowledge about its inner workings. "And then I'll laugh", he said numerous times on MSNBC.

"From having been on the Whitewater investigation, there's a tremendous disconnect between what the media knows and what's actually going on inside the investigation", added Wehle.

In a separate interview with the Associated Press earlier in the evening, Nunberg had already started softening his tone, saying that he would likely end up cooperating with the special counsel.
