Counter-terrorism police called in as Russian exile found dead in London

Glushkov, who was 68 when he died on Tuesday, rose to wealth in the 1990s as a lieutenant of Berezovsky, the oligarch who amassed huge wealth and influence under the Boris Yeltsin's government but fled to Britain after falling out with Vladimir Putin. Police are treating the death as unexplained and have put counterterrorism detectives in charge of the case.

Counter-terrorism police were leading the investigation "because of associations that the man is believed to have had".

Speaking to the Guardian Glushkov said he was extremely sceptical that Berezovsky who was found hanged in a bathroom had died of natural causes.

Nikolai Glushkov's death comes amid heightened concern following a nerve agent attack on a former Russian spy in England and as the government said it would investigate the deaths of a number of Russia-linked individuals which have raised suspicions.

London's Metropolitan Police force said in a statement on March 13 that officers were investigating the "unexplained" death of a man found at a house in the New Malden area late March 12. The father and daughter remain in critical condition, and British Prime Minister Theresa May has demanded answers from Russian Federation about how the lethal Novichok nerve agent came to be used on United Kingdom soil.

The 67-year-old tycoon had been one of Russia's most powerful figures in the years after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Berezovsky had been an early ally of Putin - but their relationship changed drastically, culminating in the tycoon leaving Russian Federation and being locked in a multi-billion-dollar legal battle with another oligarch, Roman Abramovich, over proceeds from the Sibneft oil company.

Bobbi Kristina's ex arrested on domestic battery charges -- again
This isn't the first time Gordon has had a run-in with the law concerning domestic violence. "I just want her to leave my house". The pair told DailyMailTV in October that they had reconciled with Leal saying she had been the aggressor in the incident.

He alleged that Berezovsky and Alexander Litvinenko, a double agent who was killed with polonium poison, had both been on a Kremlin hitlist.

He added: "Too many deaths [of Russian emigres] have been happening".

"You have the deaths of Boris and Badri over a short period of time".

Glushkov worked in the 1990s for the state airline Aeroflot and Berezovsky's LogoVAZ vehicle company, according to media reports.

It said "it was not yet clear whether it was murder or suicide". He concluded: "I don't see anyone left on it apart from me". They were accused of embezzling from the enterprise, and in 2007, a Russian court ordered them to repay millions of dollars. In 1999, as Berezovsky fell out with Vladimir Putin and fled to the UK, Glushkov was charged with money laundering and fraud.
