Amazon Alexa now lets you make announcements on your Echo devices

The company is introducing a new feature, dubbed Alexa Announcements, that enables users to communicate between multiple Echo speakers within their house.

Users can order Alexa to "announce" something in one Echo device, and then it will transmit the announcement throughout all the devices in the house.

If you've never set up a Routine for your Echo speaker, it's easy.

Sooner or later, every Echo owner will want to pair their Alexa device with another smart home gadget, and this combo is the flawless start.

While this isn't a something very meaningful considering the way in which Alexa works, it would make the user-Alexa interactions less verbal and straightforward.

Games: Highlights on day one of the Commonwealth Games
Swimmer Aimee Willmott won England's third gold, beating Scotland's Hannah Miley in the 400m individual medley. Ruck has been on a hot streak, winning four races in early March in Atlanta, including the 200 freestyle.

The Alexa-enabled Amazon Echo and Echo Dot are two of the hottest consumer products in the U.S., but they have been having troubles getting new applications, known as "skills".

Alexa Routines are a useful way to trigger a bunch of different actions with a single voice command on your Amazon Echo.

It is not as all inclusive as home security solutions from the likes of Vivint, the new nationwide version of Amazon Key is a impartially low-cost way to enjoy the benefits of an internet-connected smart lock along with a connected video camera. As with other Alexa features, we can expect to see Amazon gradually roll Announcements out more widely in the coming weeks and months. Airbnb landlords will definitely find it more convenient than getting physical keys to their tenants.

Alexa Announcements rolls out in the USA and Canada today and although there's no word on when it will be introduced to other territories, it would be surprising if it didn't eventually.

You can also say "Alexa, tell everyone..." or "Alexa, broadcast..." to access the new feature.
