Police identify remains of 3 more men in Bruce McArthur murder case

In this artist's sketch, alleged serial killer Bruce McArthur makes an appearance via video in a Toronto courtroom on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.

McArthur was initially charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Selim Esen, 44, and Andrew Kinsman, 49, when he was arrested on January 18 - a day after Toronto Police found human remains buried in planters at a home on Mallory Cr. where he allegedly stored landscaping equipment.

Sgt. Hank Idsinga said police have identified three more of the at least seven sets of remains found in planters at a midtown Toronto property where McArthur worked as a landscaper and stored tools.

The latest charge comes just hours before Toronto police are scheduled at 1:30 p.m.to provide an update on three aspects of the investigation. He's also been charged in the killings of Selim Esen, " Majeed Kayhan and Dean Lisowick.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, police suspect that McArthur was involved in the presumed death of a man who disappeared in 2013 while vacationing in Toronto. "At least one set of remains has yet to be identified and the remains of Majeed Kayhan have not been identified".

Police also released an enhanced version of a photograph of a dead man they are trying to identify.

Idsinga said investigators needed to identify the man so they could pursue "possibles" with hopes that DNA or dental records would match up with found remains.

Cicilline: Trump firing of Mueller would 'obstruct justice'
He called it a "witch hunt", claimed Mueller's team was biased and said multiple people suggested he fire the special counsel. But I think it's really a sad situation when you look at what happened. "And many people have said, 'You should fire him'".

They are also reviewing 15 unsolved murder investigations dating from 1975 to 1997.

The 44-year-old Brampton man vanished in December 2010 and his auto was later found on Moore Ave - near Mount Pleasant Rd. and St. Clair Ave. E.

Police believe Faizi knew McArthur prior to his death. They initially released a photo of the man last month and are working on tips they have received from the public.

"We've quite frankly never seen anything like it", Idsinga said.

Many of McArthur's alleged victims were the subject of two previous police probes into the disappearances of men from the city's gay village.

Since his arrest, questions have been mounting about past interactions between McArthur and police, following revelations that police questioned him in 2016 in connection to an alleged assault on another man but was let go. McArthur was questioned around the time Toronto police launched Project Houston, sources have told the Star.
