Bristol Cup race halted and postponed due to rain

The Food City 500 is a 266.5 mile race over 500 laps at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee. The race had been put under the red flag three times before NASCAR decided the forecast was too foreboding to keep the drivers at the track. The hit got Bayne's vehicle sideways and he hit Harrison Rhodes, triggering multicar wreck that collected race leader Blaney, who had led 99 laps in the No. 12 Ford to that point. The race would be official if it reaches the end of Stage 2 on Lap 250.

Kyle Larson was strong on the last green-flag run and has led 74 laps in all. The race was originally scheduled for 2 p.m. but NASCAR moved the start time up one hour.

The caution flag was given again for rain falling on the backstretch on Lap 201 with Larson leading Hamlin by five seconds.

Blaney led for 100 laps before he was entangled in a crash on 119 involving Ben Rhodes and Chris Buescher. His Penske Racing teammate, Brad Keselowski, won Stage 1.

There was another multi-car incident on lap three, involving Michael McDowell, Martin Truex Jr. and Chase Elliott. The start of the Atlanta race was delayed by rain and the Martinsville event was postponed until Monday due to snow. He started from the pole position and led a race best 202 laps in last year's Spring race at Bristol but finished sixth. Harvick's suspension broke in practice on Friday and his vehicle hit the outside wall hard.

Google to launch new Gmail design soon
The message behind the link disappears after some time, but this doesn't mean that the intermediate email also disappears. Google workers were concerned about how the application could be weaponized once under ownership of the USA military.

Johnson and Harvick have been steadily climbing through the field after starting in the rear.

Sunday's Cup race at Bristol got started but then the rains came.

There will be a competition caution after 45 laps to reassess the track. While bulk of the rain is done by morning a few lingering showers are possible, maybe some mist or drizzle, and we could see some of the activity increase late afternoon and evening.

The forecast calls for a high of 40 degrees and a 44 percent chance of rain at 1 p.m. ET.

The race will resume on Monday where it left off.
