Moto G6 Hands-On: Amazing What You Get for Just $250

The big deal on the G6 is the camera.

The trio of G-Series smartphones will be available from 2 May priced at £169, £219 and £269, respectively. This time, however, there's a dual-camera inside the circular housing.

It's the most expensive G6 but undercuts rivals like the impressive Honor 9 even at it's dramatically reduced price of £299.

The Moto G6's approach is more like those of the iPhone 8 and iPhone X. The camera resolutions drop to 5-MP for the user-facing unit and 8-MP for the main snapper.

As for batteries, the G6 packs a 3,000mAh cell, the G6 Plus packs a 3,200mAh cell, and the G6 Play packs a whopping 4,000mAh cell (hence the Play branding). Dual camera setup of 12+5MP resides on the back and an 8MP on the front. But capturing those breathtaking moments is just the beginning, the smart camera system supports text scanning as well as landmark and object detection. I tried it with a small plant and the Moto G6 correctly identified it as a succulent and brought information up on screen. Up front, you'll find an 8MP camera for selfie duties and video conferencing. Pricing of Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus is yet to be revealed. It records 1080p @ 30 fps videos.

The Moto G6 Play is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front sensor, with the former offering "rapid-focusing" capabilities and coming with the majority of imaging features supported by the regular Moto G6, including the ability to leverage artificial intelligence in order to recommend the best shot from a group of consecutively taken photographs.

The budget Moto G6 Play, available in deep indigo and silver, has the same 5.7-inch screen but a lower 1,440 x 720 pixel resolution, and a slower Snapdragon 427 chipset. Instead, we played around with the things at an event in New York City, where it's now 40 degrees in mid-April.

The former doorman reportedly paid by a magazine to keep quite about a rumoured Donald Trump love child has spoken . The deal included a $1 million penalty should Sajudin tell his story to anyone else without A.M.I. permission.

Aside from packing faster cores, the Snapdragon 450 uses 14nm transistors, half the size of the 430's. It packs large 4000 mAh battery with Turbo charging.

Finally, each handset will launch with Android 8.0 Oreo and they'll get security patches every 60 to 90 days for two years following release. Firing up the camera app and taking a quick snap, for example, was a lag-free experience. The phone manufacturer will be retailing two versions of the device - a base model with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage space, and a more capable variant with twice as much flash memory and 3GB of RAM. For an extra £20, however, you can upgrade to the 4GB RAM, 64GB storage Amazon-exclusive model.

The signature "M" sits underneath the rear camera, and there is a 3.5mm headphone jack on both models, too.

The G6 has a 3000 mAh battery which can be charged via the Type-C port. While these are not considered "high-end" smartphones, they have numerous same features of more expensive phones. It may mean a lot of your old charging cables become obsolete, but USB-C is a more robust connection and a lot easier to plug in, since it's reversible.

Both devices feature Turbopower to get hours of use time after only short minutes of charging. Most likely you'll be able to buy them from Verizon Wireless and Sprint, or buy the unlocked G6 and take it to T-Mobile or AT&T.

Motorola has launched the Moto G6 alongside the more powerful G6 Plus and cheaper but long battery life-toting G6 Play. That comes with a monster 4000mAh battery.
