Alabama Crimson Tide ready to showcase talents at A-Day scrimmage

But for the Crimson Tide football players hitting the field for Saturday's annual A-Day Spring game inside Bryant-Denny Stadium, it's all about leaving Alabama fans with a good impression.

Key, who missed the start of the season with a knee injury, averaged 7.0 points and 5.3 rebounds per game as a sophomore, falling off quite a bit from a strong freshman season when he averaged 12.0 points and 5.7 rebounds, leading the team in scoring and making the SEC All-Freshman team. Mac Jones, the unheralded backup from Jacksonville, Florida, won a share of the spring game MVP honors by completing 23 of 35 passes for 289 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. His father's recent remarks, his less than stellar 19 of 37 passing for 195 yards, and an interception give many the impression that his performance was lacking during the game.

The first-team offensive line, which was charged with protecting Hurts, struggled mightily during the game, surrendering seven sacks and three QB hurries.

The scored stayed that way until early in the second quarter when the Crimson team struck again after redshirt freshman receiver Chadarius Townsend caught the ball across the middle of the field before breaking a tackle and rumbling 65 yards for the touchdown. He also rushed for eight touchdowns.

Couturier out for Game 4 vs. Penguins with lower-body injury
Couturier was the Flyers' third-leading scorer during the regular season, scoring 31 goals with 45 assists in 82 games played. Philadelphia has converted on 20.4 percent of its power play chances this year, a figure that's right around league average.

Dylan Moses led both teams with 10 tackles. "I think Quinnen Williams made a lot of improvement this spring".

If Jalen Hurts hasn't received his degree from Alabama he'll have to sit out a year before being able to play anywhere. At halftime, Jones was 12-for-21 for 179 yards with 1 TD, 1 INT. Hurts went 6-for-14 for 32 yards with 0 TDs, 0 INTs.

Taulia Tagovailoa, the four-star quarterback from Thompson and little brother of current sophomore Tua Tagovailoa, announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide just prior to the A-Day game. "I was not disappointed with the way Jalen played". I'm not necessarily satisfied where we are, and I don't think anyone on our team should be satisfied where we are. "Obviously, I'm sure if you talked to him he would say, 'There's things that I wish I could have done better and would improve on'". In his first spring with the team, Jones has grown as a passer but still has room to mature as far as his emotional approach according to Saban.
