Donald Trump made up facts, says Stormy Daniels's lawyer

He also managed to voice a confident-sounding, if wholly fictitious, rationale for Trump to stonewall special counsel Robert Mueller.

Donald Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani has started off his tenure defending the president with some seriously head-scratching moments on cable news, but Trump has publicly stood by him, for the most part. Cohen had previously said Trump did not reimburse him, and Trump had denied knowing about the payment.

Giuliani made the remarks after multiple news reports said Trump was growing exhausted of Giuliani's media blitz and upset about the unflattering coverage surrounding it.

Speaking to ABC's This Week, Giuliani was asked if Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen had made other payments of the kind to Daniels, who has claimed to have had an affair with Trump in 2006.

The feedback appeared to contradict Trump's earlier feedback, however Kosta mentioned that's precisely why Giuliani's plan is genius. He also suggested the October 2016 settlement had been made because Trump was in the stretch run of his presidential campaign.

President Donald Trump is growing increasingly irritated with lawyer Rudy Giuliani's frequently off-message media blitz, which has included muddying the waters on hush money paid to porn actress Stormy Daniels and making claims that could complicate the president's standing in the special counsel's Russian Federation probe.

Some White House staffers have even begun comparing Giuliani's performance with Anthony Scaramucci.
