Pompeo: US to help North Korea economy if it gives up nuke

Pompeo said he had told North Korean leader Kim Jong Un of that hope during his brief visit to Pyongyang earlier this week, where he also he finalized details of the upcoming summit between Kim and U.S. President Trump and secured the release of three Americans imprisoned in the country.

"While the North Koreans say that nuclear disarmament should proceed stage by stage, taking into account reciprocal steps and in the absence of a threat from the United States, the U.S. side insists on North Korea's transparent and unconditional denuclearization", the expert noted.

The top USA diplomat said the release of three American detainees set the conditions for a successful summit between the US and North Korea. But North Korea has said it is willing to talk now because it has already succeeded in becoming a nuclear-armed state, fueling skepticism the North would truly being willing to give those weapons up.

Mr Pompeo said there would need to be "complete" and "verifiable" denuclearisation that would remove North Korea as a threat to the South, the United States and the rest of the world.

Pompeo was informed after a meeting with Kim Jong Un on Wednesday that the men had been granted "amnesty".

Pompeo also said the complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula would require "robust verification" program by the U.S. and other countries.

Sonam Kapoor invites Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to her wedding
Subsequent to the wedding, Sonam and Anand will distance among Mumbai, Delhi (his hometown) and also London. Anand reportedly proposed her just one month after their first meeting, and Sonam accepted the proposal.

While Kang sought to assure reporters that the USA and South Korea are unified on the matter, she was slightly more moderate on the possibility of relief, saying sanctions must remain in place "until we see visible, meaningful action taken by North Korea on the denuclearization track". "I think we have a good understanding, and I think there is complete agreement about what the ultimate objectives are".

"The release of the three detainees does not absolve the regime of a history of human rights abuses that must be the topic of any discussion going forward on normalising political relations between the USA and North Korea". "It is extremely important for North Korea to normalize diplomatic relations with Japan to walk along the right track as part of worldwide society, while accepting its requirements". "Conversations that involved deep complex problems, challenges; the strategic decision that Chairman Kim has before him about how it is he wishes to proceed and if he is prepared, in exchange for the assurances we are ready to provide to him, if he is prepared to fully denuclearize".

Ironically enough, the two countries don't even agree on that history.

"We hope that relevant parties will keep calm to maintain jointly regional peace and stability", he said.

To the U.S., that means the North giving up the nuclear weapons it has already built.

Critics blast the "warm" words and smiles, while supporters say it is part of diplomacy.
