Appointed by the state's governor, the task force added in a report that failures were found at all levels of government related to the lead contamination crisis with the city's water supply. The report says it also failed in its role as the main agency to protect kids from lead poisoning. At a news conference Monday in Flint , county board Chairman Jamie Curtis said that, to date, the county has spent more than $1.1 million to remediate and mitigate the effects of the water emergency. These latest moves from North Korea, which violate existing United Nations resolutions, are believed to be a response to military drills being conducted on its borders by the USA and South Korea. The officials also said the incident happened between 3:19 and 4:05 p.m. South Korean time (2:19 to 3:05 a.m. ET) Monday, as reported by CNN. Annual sales of existing homes fell across all regions, dropping most sharply in the Northeast and Midwest, falling by 17.1 percent and 13.8 percent respectively. The monthly average commitment rate for a 30-year, fixed rate mortgage was 3.66% in February. The share of new homes purchased that haven't started construction sits near a 10-year high, likely reflecting a fall in inventory of existing homes. (more...)
